Welcome to using the Stupid Simple diet apps!
Before you start logging your foods, you should set up your custom profile and create an account so that your progress will be backed-up.
To set up your profile:
- Tap on Menu.
- Tap on Settings.
- Locate Nutrition Settings.
- Tap on each category to edit your Age, Height, Current Weight, Goal Weight, Exercise Frequency.
- Tap on Setup Nutrition Goals. The first time you access this, the app will give you the option to use the recommended calories or manually add your own.
- On the next screen, you can edit your macros levels and calories.
- Move the sliders to your desired macros levels. You can also tap on the macros number to change it manually.
- You can also adjust the daily calories by tapping on the number. *Your macros will change as a result.
- When you are finished, tap on "save."
After you set up your profile, your macros bars will reflect your goals and your daily caloric number can be found in the lower right section on the Grid screen.
In addition to creating your nutrition profile, you can create an account for syncing devices and saving your data or if you ever sign out of the app and would like to see your data return.
To create a new account:
- Tap on Profile on the bottom of the screen.
- Enter your email and your password on the designated boxes.
- Tap on Create account.
Now, you are ready to start logging your foods.
For logging the food you ate:
When you tap on any food on the Grid, it will bring up a pop-up with its nutrition information for one portion of food. There are several options for logging your food:
- You can choose your portion size on the left.
- You can increase or decrease the portion with the up and down arrows. *You can also tap on the portion number itself to manually change it.
- You can switch the units by tapping on the word Units.
- You can select the meal time above by tapping on the corresponding meal time button. *The foods will be organized on your Logs based on the meal time.
- You can also see how the macros (for that food) will impact your overall macros goals for that day.
You can then review all of the foods you ate for the day on your Logs. If you would like to delete any foods, you can swipe that food entry to the left to bring up the "X" button (and then tap on the "X"). You can also log your weight for the day, write notes, etc.
For reviewing your daily macros goals on the Grid:
When you track your foods on the Grid, I recommend paying attention to the color macros bars (near the top). As you eat foods throughout the day on the Food Grid, the color macros bars will show your progress as you eat the percentages of the macros you set up for your profile. The numbers will go down throughout the day as you eat foods and so they will tell you how much of each of those macros you have left to eat for the day. As you approach zero, the outlines around the icons (on the Grid) will turn a certain color as a warning that eating a particular food will make you go over your custom macros limit for the day. *There will also be an exclamation point as a warning that the food will set you over your daily goal.
The colors of the outlined icons match the bars above:
red for carb macros
purple for fat macros
yellow/orange for protein macros
So, as you eat foods you can pay attention to making sure that the bars won't dip into a negative number, where you eat more than your daily macros goals. This should help you to stay within your daily macros goals.
Finally, for tracking your daily calories:
Similar to the color macros bars going down, your calorie number, located in the lower right of the screen, will go down throughout the day. To make your calorie goals, be sure to not let the number dip into a negative number. However, if you have any leftover calories, you can "bank" those calories and then these will be stored in the Piggy Bank (the number next to your Piggy Bank). You can save up these extra calories for special meals or they will be spent whenever your daily calories exceed your daily caloric goal. The calories will be removed when you head into your next day.
You should be all set up for tracking foods on the Grid, but if you have any more follow-up questions, please feel free to contact us again.

I just want to thank you for information that should have been on the app itself. The app just says, "Swipe to delete foods." It should say, "Swipe left to delete foods." I don't think I've ever had to swipe left for anything, so I'm glad I referred to your site! If not, I'd still be very frustrated!.....Love you!
